My name is Sue, I’m Irish and living in Australia since January 2017 (Perth since June 2019). I have practiced yoga and meditation for the past 20 years and qualified as a teacher in 2018 (500hr Diploma in Yoga Teacher Training). Since then I have completed lots of specialised yoga training (seniors and chair yoga training, kids yoga training, trauma sensitive yoga training and mental/adrenal exhaustion yoga specialist training).
Yoga and meditation help me to manage anxiety, reduce stress and to calm my often too busy head. I like to practice slow flow and Hatha yoga – suitable for beginners and for people who prefer a slower, more inward breath-focused practice. I offer strong energising practices in the morning and mellower more restorative classes in the evening. My aim in my own practice and when I’m teaching is to finish each class or practice feeling more grounded, peaceful and content than before. Some of the lovely humans who have attended my classes have left some reviews on this page to describe what my classes are like.
I have a PhD in Cognitive Science and have worked as a university researcher/lecturer for 15+ years. My research interests are in how we learn and factors that influence our success (self-regulation, self-belief, mindset, mental health and well-being) . I have published alot of research articles (80+ I’d guess) and my work has been cited in excess of 1000 times. I’ve also won numerous awards and accolades for the quality of my work and on the integration of research into real-world practice.

I have a job that places a lot of pressure and challenges on my brain, I enjoy the challenges but was finding it very hard to switch off when I came home from work, sometimes even waking up for hours in the middle of the night.
